This game is the second chapter of the fourth canonical saga for the series, and is the second SNK game to use the Unreal Engine graphics engine ( Unreal Engine 4), the first being Samurai Shodown (2019). This is the first canonical game of the series to have Rollback Netcode (and the second mainline game with this feature, the first being The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match). This feature will be released along with Sylvie Paula Paula and Goenitz's inclusion to the game, in June 20th, 2023. This feature will be released in the Spring/Summer of 2023, with an open beta test in April of the same year. ĭuring EVO 2022, SNK announced that the game will receive crossplay between all platforms for which it was released. The game features a small cross-play between PS4 and PS5 and between Steam and Epic Games. The King of Fighters XV, officially abbreviated as KOF XV, is the fifteenth installment of The King of Fighters series, released in Februfor the consoles PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC through Steam, Windows 10/11 and Epic Games, with the pre-order copies coming out February 14, 2022.
